If you are planning on running the Twin Cities Marathon this year, it would be best not to put off registration, lest you find yourself out of luck on race day.

Registration opened at 12:01 a.m. on April 18 for the 27th Annual Medtronic Twin Cities Marathon. The marathon, held this year on October 5, typically sells out within 20 to 30 days.

This year, registration is occurring three weeks earlier than it has in the past and will be conducted online only. The field limit has been increased to 11,000 to accommodate growing interest in the event.

The three-day weekend marathon celebration includes a 5K run/walk, children’s fun runs and a health and fitness expo, among other events.

For more information and to register, visit www.mtcmarathon.org.
