Healthier Fast-Food Options If you find yourself left with only fast-food restaurants at your travel destination, here are a few suggestions that you can try at a few popular places without busting your nutrition—or your budget: Arby’s: Sourdough sandwich with ham and eggs Burger King: frozen yogurt, BK Broiler, Chicken Sandwich, Chunky Chicken Salad, plain hamburger Carls Jr: Charbroiled BBQ Chicken Sandwich, plain hamburger Jack in the Box: Chicken Fajita Pita, Chicken Teriyaki Bowl, Garden Chicken Salad, Breakfast Jack McDonald’s: Fruit ‘n Yogurt Parfait, apple and walnut salad, plain hamburger, English muffin, soft-serve cone, Chicken McGrill (no mayo), Egg McMuffin (no butter) Rubio’s: Anything on HealthMex® menu Subway: Any sub/wrap on the “6 grams of fat or less” menu (no mayo or oil), baked chips, chicken noodle soup, minestrone soup, Spanish-style chicken with rice soup, Veggie Delight Salad with fat-free dressing, Deli Classic Sandwich (turkey, ham, roast beef or tuna) Taco Bell: bean burrito, pinto beans, chicken enchirito "Fresco Style" Wendys: sour cream and chives baked potato, chili with Saltines (no cheese), Ultimate Chicken Grill Sandwich, mandarin orange or fresh fruit cup, Jr. Frosty, side salad with low-fat honey mustard dressing
